Nowadays, blood lab tests are part of the routine diagnostics and performed by nearly every doctor or hospital. Unfortunately, typically only a small spectrum of traditional standard parameters is examined. Newer, state-of-the-art parameters, which are often more meaningful are sometimes not taken into account. This has two main reasons: they are generally more expensive and secondly, a lot of doctors are not familiar anymore with the latest developments in lab technology.

At Intermed-Consult, we follow the newest trends of lab diagnostics and consult our patients on compiling a more extensive but still reasonable spectrum of blood parameters to check. This can comprise for example specific tumor markers or parameters being indicative of metabolic defects. Thinking outside the box, it’s not uncommon that we detect pathological values or diseases (such as diabetes, infections etc.), which were undiscovered so far. Moreover, we routinely check the urine of our patients, as the testing is quite cheap and allows gaining a lot of important information about kidney function, metabolic diseases and other potential impairments.
